Our Story

XDM Industries is a precision machine shop based in Port Ludlow, Washington, designing and manufacturing parts through every stage of development — from concept and prototype to full-scale production. Our team has the expertise to modify existing hardware or tooling to deliver new solutions and meet exact customer requirements. With an emphasis on efficiency, precision, and quality, we ensure every project is completed on time, to specification, and within budget.
 

We proudly supply components to government agencies and commercial businesses, while also taking on a wide variety of creative projects, from one-off parts to custom builds. To support our government contracts, XDM Industries obtained FFL and SOT licenses, which later expanded our capabilities into gunsmithing and transfers.  We offer gunsmithing services to meet customer demand for trusted, high-quality machining in the firearms space. Whether it’s a custom optic cut, repair, or complete build, our focus remains on precision, reliability, and craftsmanship, providing dependable service across Washington State and beyond.

About Xan Des Marais, Owner

From a young age, Xan was drawn to creating things with his hands, fascinated by the precision, patience, and problem-solving that craftsmanship requires. That early curiosity evolved into a lifelong pursuit. After graduating from Bellingham Technical College with a degree in Precision Machining, Xan refined his skills working for several companies, mastering both traditional and modern machining techniques.

He founded XDM Industries to bring creativity, craftsmanship and ingenuity together. ​Xan combines years of machining experience with a commitment to precision, safety, and a passion for problem-solving. Whether fabricating a custom part or restoring a firearm, he approaches every project with care and meticulous attention to detail.
